As promised, one year after our initial intro to the M||E||A||N stack overview, we are coming round circle to review and introduce the stack once again. We'll live-code a small, M||E||A||N stack app to see how the rubber meets the road. We'll also touch a bit on workflow and, time allowing, deploy to a provider.
Additionally, we'll touch on some lessons learned, tactics, and preparation to land a role as a M||E||A||N stack developer. It's been an exciting year these past 12 months, and the M||E||A||N stack has gained momentum.
In the spirit of the M||E||A||N stack and getting hired as such, we will be getting up from our seats and touring the physical layout of the IBM Design Studio (our venue sponsor), who, as it happens is actively hiring M||E||A||N stack developers.
In typical Austin MEAN Stack meetup fashion, we'll have door prizes as well as food and drinks.
So, mark your calendars! I hope to see everyone there!

Note on Fee Charged:
After several discussions and suggestions, I've decided that we will be charging a nominal fee, of $3, for meetup attendance. No credit card and online payment required, though; fee will be due, in cash, at the entrance, the night of the event.
So, why the fee, and where will it go? We've had several occasions when members RSVP but don't show up; this takes up slots that others might be able to fill. So, it has been suggested that I charge a nominal fee in attempt to avoid this. Fees, even if negligible, make us think a bit before just habitually accepting the invitation. I'll keep an eye on this and see how it works out next few meetups. As always, please feel free to share your thoughts. Incidentally, funds will be used to offset the cost of door prizes.
GREAT NEWS!!! (8/12/2015): Our gracious, food/drinks sponsor, Beacon Hill Staffing (see below), has offered to pay the entrance fee for ALL :-) Yay! All you have to do is sign up with them, and they'll cover your cost! As if that wasn't enough, Beacon Hill is also providing free food and drinks for everyone! Can't beat that!
Beacon Hill Staffing (http://www.beaconhillstaffing.com/) is sponsoring food and drinks! Neal and Cody have been awesome about getting with me to support our meetup!
NewIron (http://newiron.com/) is sponsoring door prizes! Need I say how great Will Longenecker and company have been from the very beginning when they were our inaugural sponsors back in 2014? ...and still with us!
IBM Design Studio (http://www.ibm.com/design/) is sponsoring our venue and Grand Tour! I met Amber Atkins and Keli Crane just recently, and may I say, they are some of the most welcoming and vibrant individuals I have ever met. Their winning personalities and approachable attitude were the perfect complement to the venue. I walked in, and I felt like whiteboarding, prototyping, and coding away!
