Atheists United General Meeting - AU Kids

At Atheists United we are dedicated to building our community at every level. We recently saw a great need to offer a place that includes activities for families and children. Thus began AU Kids! At our monthly general meeting we now have a place for families to bring their children to play while the adults can attend the meeting downstairs.

I always try to incorporate a science theme with the kids. We are currently moving our way around our world. We explored the big bang and how we are all made of star stuff, celebrated Earth Day with recycled materials, and erupted volcanoes. The plan is to take the kids on a journey around the natural world this year and eventually move in to more comparative religion and myths in the future as the kids get a little older. I'd like to focus on a different story every month. We then join the parents and rest of the meeting for lunch together after the activities.

We also have various meetups around LA throughout the month on the Atheist United Family Group on Our hope is to allow parents a place to socialize while giving the children a community to share with their peers as well as creating lasting friendships. Parents please come up to the room with your kids and sign them in so I have your contact information if I need to reach you for any reason during the meeting.

The ages for AU Kids should be 3+. If you rsvp early, I can try to accomodate younger children depending on the amount of children we have in attendance.

As always, lunch will be served afterwards for all.

Do you know of any meeting taking place in Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach or Huntington Beach. I'm having a hard time finding local atheist groups for families.
