Relational, document, and key-value databases have become common-place among modern application architectures. Each of these database types can offer fast and flexible access to data, however, many of them run into problems when storing and querying highly-connected datasets.
Applications such as social media networks, fraud detection applications, and recommendation engines are better stored and accessed using a graph data model.
