Gateway Loop - McDowells Mountain Park in Scottsdale
This is an average Hike which means there is a decent amount of elevation gain (almost 800 ft) but the gain is not that steep and is only a portion of the hike. If you hike Camelback or Piestewa regularly this is an easy hike for you. We will hike the 4.5 mile loop clockwise.
We will begin hiking no later than 9:40am. The hike should take about 2 hours. Please bring at least 1 liter of water and dress in layers because it may be cold and windy.

Hiking Difficulty Descriptions
You can access the trailhead and parking area from Thompson Peak Parkway and Bell Road (see above map). Meet the group near the large map by the bathrooms. The Conservancy will be hosting this same hike half an hour earlier but they should be gone from the meeting area by 9:15am (they will be wearing blue). If you see them that is not our group.
