Introduce ourselves, and chat about hardware startups

David has offered to host a meetup at Ace Monster Toys for people interested in hardware startups -- he himself does not have any hardware startup experience (though he does work for a software startup), but is interested in hardware and electronics and that sort of thing. Also will give people a chance to check out our space!

One of our members, Mark, will be there to give a short talk about his hardware startup, Saleae, and their products, logic analyzers -- this will be doubly relevant, because these are tools that are useful to people creating their own hardware!

I got this idea after chatting to a few people in the Berkeley Hardware Startup group. Please post any comments / suggestions you might have, and then RSVP to let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

It was a great talk (very informative and offered insights), but only a small fraction of the meeting was getting to know each other or chatting about startups.

Awesome hearing about the startup experience from Mark, who is well on his way, and the various obstacles he's overcome

If someone has a decent microphone perhaps we can have a laptop streaming it?

I'm probably going to stick with the 11th since a bunch of people are already on board with that date. I should be able to record it, it might just be with a webcam though, can't make any promises on quality.

Is there any way you guys can record the talk? I live ~2 hours away, but would like to come next wed.

There's a soda machine in the building, and a coffee machine and microwave in our space. Occasionally people also donate beer to our mini fridge, but no guarantees there will be any left on the 11th. Any snack or beverages people bring would be great!

How about we bring snacks and beverages? Is there coffee and tea available at AMT?

Hi all -- please fill out this form and let me know which days work best for you, trying to find what day the most people would be able to come: http://whenisgood.net/ncr8r4z -- thanks!
