SHOWCASE at Millier's Grille Downunder -- *I Will TRY to see if we can be out on the patio each time, if not, we'll either be in our regular spot downstairs or perhaps inside the restaurant upstairs. Will let folks know a day or two beforehand. The SHOWCASE is announced as TWO different meetups: one for the performers--We have 4 performer slots available and the second meetup which is for the "AUDIENCE".
Once the 4 performers have been solidified --I will email each of you with your time slots and ask that you let me know if there are any NECESSARY required time slot changes, which I will try to accommodate. Also I will need a sound person or two to volunteer for the night, and also extra mics and stands are usually a good idea too.... so speak up, if you can do either of those. THANKS!
Structure/format: In order to give everyone who has not YET played a chance to perform at this event -- if there are people on the WL who have not yet performed at Miller's, they will get priority over others on the WL. AND -- those who have just performed the previous time, should NOT sign up for the following showcase, but are welcome to sign up as many times as you wish in the future -- just not 2 weeks in a row. I think this seems the best way to make it fair for everyone from the meetup group who wishes to perform at this event to get a chance.
I plan to post 2 showcase events at a time, for each month -- after the last showcase in that month occurred.
Note on timing for the slots: I will try to keep an eye on the 30 minutes, so everyone gets their fair amount of time to perform (but won't always be perfect :-( )-- and I will try to keep everyone's time roughly set to 30 minutes total so we don't go much over 9:00pm at the end -- esp. since this is a week night. There can sometimes be up to 5 minutes of setup time involved, esp. when there is more than one person doing a set -- so I guess it would be good to factor that in, if you are having multiple people perform with you
