What we're about

Across the Pond Writers' Workshop: a lively group of 10-20 that meets weekly on Monday nights in Montclair to critique original fiction (any length) and non-fiction. Writers do not have to be published. Critique will be honest but never unkind, given by fellow workshop participants as well as group leaders. Professional writers Laura Federico of the US and Natalie Harris-Spencer of the UK will co-lead. Following each workshop ... drinks and conversation.

Laura Federico is a lifelong writer whose non-fiction has appeared in The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/10/nyregion/easing-the-trauma-of-rape-victims.html), the Montclair Times, Frontiers Newsmagazine, the Princeton University (http://wws.princeton.edu/news-and-events/news/item/amb-bodine-course-examines-legacies-iraq-war) website, and more. She has taught college writing at all levels and has earned her living "by her pen" for more than two decades. She currently runs a 4-year-old writers' group and has a novel under consideration at the Sarah Jane Freyman Literary Agency, NYC.

Natalie Harris-Spencer is Head of Digital Content for Sony North America. A British writer, lifestyle blogger and editor, Natalie's work has appeared in Time Out London, The Huffington Post (U.K. Edition) and Londonist, and she runs a popular lifestyle blog: The Edible Editor (https://theedibleeditor.com/). She was a member of the West London Writers' Group for three years, where she completed her first novel (which she is currently editing). Natalie moved to Montclair 6 months ago, where she and Laura will be bringing her English writing sentiment "across the pond".
