Action Design in December

Nick D.
Boston, MA
Greetings Action Designers,

And welcome to all our new members from the past month!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for November's Open Project Night, and our first session on best practices with Aidan Hudson-Lapore, a behavior change designer at Mad*Pow, focused on incorporating scientific evidence into the design process.

December is almost here and we have a couple events coming early next month:

Open Project Night

This coming Monday (03 December) is our next Open Project Night.

Open Project Nights are monthly meetings held first Monday of the month. They're a chance to discuss, network, trade skills, and get involved with projects that change Boston for the better. This is an opportunity for members to meet other locals practitioners and those interested in what Action Design covers in a more casual setting.

Get more details and RSVP for the December Open Project Night here.

If you're interested in presenting, please let me know.

UX Research Ethics

We're excited to continue our best practices series started last month and to work with Ethical Technology Boston for this event. This session is led by Alba N. Villamil, an independent UX Researcher who specializes in designing products for vulnerable populations like refugees and low-income families. Join us as we discuss the ethical challenges in including users in the design process and explore the sometimes thin line between “human-centric” and unethical practices.

Get more details and RSVP for UX Research Ethics here.

Have an idea or want to present for another session in this series? Send us a proposal!

Thanks again for being a part of Action Design and we hope to see you next month.
