Indoor Rock Climbing (Beginners)

Have you always wanted to try indoor rock climbing but never knew how to start? We can help you with that. Join us at the Summit Climbing Gym in Grapevine for an exciting night of climbing and new friends.

When you arrive check in at the front desk. If it is your first time at Summit you will be asked to fill out a waver ( Afterwards you will be given a 10 minute tour of the facility.

How much does it cost?
Tell the front desk that you're with Active Grapevine and a day pass costs $10.  This includes all equipment rentals.

How do I find the group?
The best way to find us is to just ask the front desk. Most of the employees know who we are, and if they don't, they can always just announce for us on the PA and someone will be over to greet you.

What do I wear?
Comfortable clothing is recommended, basically a t-shirt and shorts or athletic type pants. You'll want to wear socks with the rental shoes.

Do I need to know how to belay?
Nope, we have enough experienced climbers attending that we have belaying covered. All you need to do is climb, no technical experience required.

What if I'm late?
It's pretty casual. Show up when you can, leave when you want. Most people show up between 6 and 7pm and usually people start leaving around 8-8:30pm.

Is it hard?
Well.... it's climbing. If it was easy, it wouldn't be worth doing. There will be enough experienced climbers in attendance to start teaching you beginners techniques to improve your success. New climbers typically start to become more acclimated to the sport after 3 or 4 sessions. All it takes is a little bit of determination and will power.
