We will protect our group against online trollers

Charlie asked me to send this to our membership.

We apologize for inappropriate trolling posts that were sent this morning from a person who has never hiked with us.  That happens occasionally with Meetup groups, and that is a risk with social media.  A couple of hikers complained about the "hello" and "looking for a serious relationship" posts, and we then took appropriate action.

We allow posts that only have to do with the hikes or our group in general.  Talking about other groups or anything else is not allowed.

If you see an inappropriate post before we do, please contact Charlie, Don or me.

Also, contact us if you get an inappropriate email through Meetup from a person who is trolling.  Chances are it is from a person who is not interested in the activities of a Meetup group.

We want to keep our online interface safe and fun for everyone.

Looking forward to seeing you on the hikes.
