What we're about

Active women getting together to make new friends and have fun while discovering Savannah and the surrounding area. We will take walks, sightsee places of interest, ride bicycles (if you have one), enjoy beach outings, have social hours and/or happy hours, play board games, cards, etc. The idea is to chat a bit, share common interests, forget our cares and woes for a bit and have a 'bonnie-good time'!

We encourage like-minded women to join us. We will seriously consider women for members who will tell us a little about themselves, i.e. if they are new to the area or if they have lived here awhile, what their interests are, etc. We would like to know what attracts applicants to this particular group and how frequently they plan to participate in outings/events. We don't want women as members who are simply joining this group in order to add to their list of meet up groups.

It is strongly suggested that individuals interested in joining our group, list first name and first initial of their last name only. We absolutely require a picture of the applicant. Pictures, of plants, pets, scenery, etc. are not acceptable.

We want women who want to be active (we walk a lot) with us. We want women who will sign up for outings and not change their minds at the last minute. We want women who want to have fun and explore Savannah and the area with us.

MOVIE NIGHT IN POOLER: The House of GUCCI

Royal Cinemas & IMAX

Let's spend an evening eating, drinking and watching what promises to be an intriguing story. It's the "story of how Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, plotted to kill her husband, the grandson of renowned fashion designer Guccio Gucci."

CAST: Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston
DIRECTOR: Ridley Scott
RUN TIME: 157 min

This showing is in the Royal Cinemas Director's Hall. Movies shown in the Director's Hall allow ticket holders to purchase beverages (including beer & wine) and food at the theater's grille and take the food and drink inside the theater.

The movie starts at 6:05 pm but we'll meet in the lobby at 5:50 pm. Make sure you purchase your ticket now for the 6:05 PM showing, Thursday December 2 in the Director's Hall (Screen 13) . (Do NOT buy the IMAX ticket!) Check your order twice. After, arriving at the theater, we will print out our ticket at the kiosk. Buy your ticket online: Royalcinemaspooler.com

NOTE: I have already purchased two tickets on row A, seats A8 & A7. It's the row at the very top of the theater, farthest from the screen. It would be nice if y'all buy in the same row or the row in front of it (Row B).

Cost of my ticket: $9.00 (senior) +$1.50 fee = $10.50.If you are not a senior (under age 55), your ticket will cost $12.00 + $1.50 fee. At the time I bought my ticket, the entire row was available. Note: the seating is labeled with row A farthest from the screen. It's not a large theater and I promise that row is great, B Row is excellent, too. the seats are recliners. Yes, you may bring your blanket. I will certainly bring/wear a jacket - the theaters are nearly always freezing!

The Royal Cinemas is located in Pooler and the theater has those wonderfully relaxing recliners with swivel trays for food and drinks. Royal Cinemas has a bar and grille that serves typical movie-fare, i.e. pizza, fries, wings, tenders, etc. The bar sells, wine and beer, too. The consumption of alcohol is limited to the bar itself and to the Director's Hall. We will be seeing this movie in the Director's Hall.

WHERE TO FIND US: We will meet in the lobby of Royal Cinemas & IMAX, at 5 Towne Center Ct, Pooler, GA 31322. Buy your ticket now.

*WEATHER: Georgia weather is rarely predictable but in this outing, unless it's a tornado or hurricane, I don't think we have to worry.

CANINES: Fidos are not permitted. Sorry.

Be courteous, if you have signed up to go and find that you cannot attend, please let us know.

Spanish Moss Trail, South Carolina Bicycle Ride & Lunch Locally

Parker's Kitchen

The trail is open again, so grab your bicycles for a great ride! The weather should be nice and the Spanish Moss Trail is primarily used for walking, running, bird watching, and road biking and is accessible year-round.

The ride starts at 11:00 am in Beaufort, South Carolina. Allow plenty of time to arrive at the Roseida Road trailhead, BEHIND the Parker's (see details below). After the ride we will have lunch at a local café.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

EVENT: The ride will start in Beaufort, SC. The trail is paved and is currently a little over 6 miles in length. So, the complete ride will be 12+ miles. NOTE: Ride as many miles as you want - you do not have to ride the complete trail. We will have lunch at a local Beaufort café following the ride.

The SPANISH MOSS TRAIL, a.k.a. Beaufort Rail Trail, or the Magnolia Line Trail) follows the former Port Royal Railroad that was constructed in 1870. The current trail is a 12-foot wide, paved path. It offers spectacular Lowcountry water and marsh views, coastal wildlife viewing, and historic points of interest. The Trail runs from Port Royal, SC to Beaufort, SC.

The trail is paved and pretty flat and is used for cycling, walking, hiking, jogging and inline skating. It's classified as easy and is a trail that can be used year around. However, we don't recommend riding this in the peak of summer -- no shade most of the time.

WHERE TO FIND US: We will start our ride at the Roseida Trailhead which is at the northern part of the trail in Beaufort. It's located 0.1 miles North of Parker's Kitchen convenient store (3 minute walk from Parker's to Trail). Parker's address: 3462 Trask Pkwy, Beaufort, SC. (to calculate enough time to arrive before 11:00 am, enter your starting address and use Parker's address as the end).

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE RIDE: Helmut (strongly preferred), appropriate bike riding clothes, a bike in good condition, a lightweight backpack to carry water and a snack, and tennis shoes (please do not wear flip flops or sandals).

IMPORTANT: If you can haul more than one bike please put that in the comment section when you rsvp to attend. It will be a huge help to reduce the number of cars that have to be parked.

WHERE TO MEET: Bring your bike and meet the group at the Roseida Road Trailhead, behind the Parker's Kitchen convenience store at 3462 Trask Pkwy, Beaufort, SC

WEATHER: We will not ride if rain is in the forecast. If the ride is cancelled due to weather, we will try to reschedule for a later date.

WHAT TO BRING FOR THE RIDE: Bring water for sure. A snack to munch on if you would like.

If you have any questions about logistics, or the ride, etc. please do not hesitate to send me a message.

WHERE TO FIND US: Off Highland Blvd, passed Pooler in Savannah. My address will be sent to those members to RSVP yes

PARKING: We are gathering at my place so parking is free. 😁

*WEATHER: Georgia weather is rarely predictable but during this outing, unless it's a tornado or hurricane, I don't think we have to worry.

RIDE SHARING: Always encouraged. If you need a ride or can offer a ride please let us know in the comments.

CANINES: Since this is not an event specifically for dogs (other than the ones here in my home), you are asked to please leave your fur baby at home. Sorry.

Be courteous, only sign up if you will attend and if you have signed up to go and find that you cannot attend, please let us know.

Walk Forsyth Park Savannah - MONDAY @5:30 PM (NEW TIME!!!)

The Sentient Bean

PLEASE NOTE: This event is for members only. It is not okay just to show up.

It's December and a great time to walk in Savannah. The sunset will be earlier so let's move our starting time to 5:30 pm for the month of December. Also, we may decide to eat and/or drink at a nearby restaurant following the walk...

Forsyth is such a nice place to meet and chat and not even realize we are exercising, too! We will walk around the perimeter two or three times at a moderate pace. Weather permitting, of course.

While the park is 30 acres of gorgeous scenery, it is an easy 1.2 miles walk around but wear walking shoes. Savannah mandates wearing masks in public so remember to bring yours. Bringing water is always a good idea, too. You'll need a sweatshirt, jacket or a coat!

WHERE TO FIND US: We will meet outside the Sentient Bean coffee shop/café which is located across the street from Forsyth Park at 13 E. Park Ave., Savannah. If you are lucky, you might find street parking on Park Ave. or nearby at the tennis courts.

WEATHER: Georgia weather is rarely predictable. We will will not walk if thunder/lightning is forecast to happen during the walk. Check the forecast and this site before leaving for this walk.

CANINES: Fidos are welcome weather permitting, as long as they are friendly, social and on a leash. If they are slow walkers, they will be asked to walk behind the group.

Be courteous, if you have signed up to go and find that you cannot attend, please let us know.
