What we're about

We are a group of local business professionals with one common goal: to lift each other up. How? We do this by extending our value to one another so as to engender more meaningful relationships among us all. We represent an open networking group that meets weekly at Guston’s Grill in Acworth, GA each Monday at 11:30AM for lunch. These meetings are free but we encourage attendees to have lunch to bolster the business that supports us.

Acworth Connections Open Networking Group

We are an open networking group, we start right on time, and although the meeting is free we hope you have lunch to bolster the business that supports us. We believe in "collaboration over competition". Our culture is for everyone to take an active part in boosting another member's business. By doing so we gain strong relationships which engender more referrals. We do provide a sixty-second time period for everyone to announce their business, but that might be the only element that you'll find our group has in common with others. We just launched a new "Member Focus" period where a member can either speak about a topic that may interest the group (not a commercial for his/her business) or he/she can bring a specific issue the business is experiencing and as a group we can offer suggestions to solve it. We then spend another 5 minutes discussing how we can find specific referrals for that one member. Consistent with our culture we devised another wrinkle to the group that is unique. We ask that each member come up with a service or element (that is NOT a self-serving promotion) to offer to other members. For example, one of the organizers (the software developer) creates digital business cards for free for all members of the group. They can be seen in the members section of the website and can be shared easily with anyone. These cards are not part of the organizer's business but they become a conduit for him to get to know other members more meaningfully and also demonstrates his work ethic, professionalism, etc. Another member is a hairdresser and she gives out one free haircut to other members which turns into a meaningful one on one. If a member has difficulty coming up with something to offer other members, that's fine and somewhat expected since this is so different. We will help them work out something that will be appropriate and in the end a great tool to get to know others and generate leads. So why do we do this? We have discovered that this activity triggers more lead generation among members much more quickly than anything else we've ever seen. After all, we're all in this to grow our businesses so why not do it in a way that empowers other members at the same time? We have a saying that reads, "Competition results in one winner. Collaboration finishes with many." Come visit us and see what we are all about. Walk-ins are welcome. We look forward to empowering your business.
