This is a group for anyone interested in learning and playing the game of chess. Members (Bishops) can play friendly matches (practice games/non-League play) or simply watch, learn, and discuss.

League Play will consist of matches following a simple-format scoring system that will be ongoing. Whomever is on top of the Leaderboard (has the most points, tie-breakers) will be our group's King (or Queen). League scoring is as follows: matches will be timed or untimed (opponents must decide)- 2 pts for checkmate, 1.5 pts for resignation, 1 pt for clock time out, 0.5 pt for draw. If same opponents wish to continue playing, the loser will decide format (timed or untimed). After 3 wins in a row, same opponents can not play each other for League points until next meetup.

We can also do quick play tournament style, which will not give points toward League Play, but rather, tournament winner will receive "a Knight," which counts as tie-breaker for League Play.

Membership is a $20 yearly fee, which can be paid after 3 meetups if desired. Dues will go towards chess boards and clocks.
