Great introduction on the simplicity of getting going on inserting AdMob into your smartphone app.
Nice investors/startups talk in the evening as well.

Would have liked a little more discussion at the business level on the measurable monetization paths that AdMob can deliver to mobile app companies.

There was some good material presented. I liked the discussion/presentation on updated publisher tools and optimizing for revenue.

Terrific meetup. I attended it in spite of bad back pain, and it was worth it. Loved the insights from Omar(CEO), great unassuming and very insightful guy. Panel discussion with some of the VC's was great. Demos from the developers were also pretty good. Minor negatives were the bad wifi and the weird table arrangements.

Wealth of good market information. Q&A with Omar was insightful and fun. Middle of the day hands on sessions by engineers were a bit drawn out and may have benefited from having more pre-canned content versus real-time debugging of the code.

AdMob provided an in-depth look at the mobile app marketplace trends and monetization strategies for developers targeting the different platforms. Code integration was demonstrated for the Android and iPhone SDK as well as the AdWhirl mediation layer. And excellent deep dive session for developers and business strategists alike.

There seemed to be more AdMob employees than actual attendees.
WiFi at the venue was horrendous.
The table layout made watching presentations awkward.
More interactivity would have been preferable. We could have watched the presentations as webcasts, but the engineers present were a great resource, too bad the logistics did not lend themselves for it. At the next occurrence, I would recommend setting up 4-5 tables with a monitor, where an engineer can answer questions and debug with a user. Just make sure the connectivity is decent up front. Here are some good tips on hosting an event from Joel Spolsky:
