Heralding New Year's Eve with fireworks in Old Montreal is an annual tradition in the city, aNew Year's Eve event attracting in the upwards of 70,000 people of all ages interested in calling in the new year in a festive, outdoor setting.
New Year's Eve[masked] Fireworks
At the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2016, fireworks herald the coming year for about 15 minutes.
As always, it's free to watch. The crowd converges at Jacques-Cartier Pier (map). The closest subway station to get there is Champ-de-Mars Metro. Reaching the area by car is not recommended on New Year's Eve given the crowd size and lack of parking to accommodate 70,000 revelers.
New Year's Eve 2017: Anything Happening Before the Fireworks?
On December 31, 2016, expect a local DJ mix to start as of 7 p.m. By 10 p.m., local French music acts usually take to the stage. In 2016, that included Coeur de Pirate, Bernard Adamus, Dumas and Yann Perreau. Details for the 2017 edition will be published when they're made available by organizers.
Our usual tradition ,everyone brings something to drink and eat to share with
fellow members !
Happy New Year Everyone !
