• AI Frontiers Conference
Tickets are limited. RSVP Here: http://bit.ly/aif_eventbrite?discount=p25new2 Description At AI Frontiers Conference, we invite pioneers and leaders in AI to share their insights on the frontier topics. Each of our speakers are legendary in their own sake. Today I want to introduce 2 speakers (we will introduce more in the coming weeks), one is Pieter Abbeel, the famous robotics professor at UC Berkeley, and the other is Ilya Sutskever, the founder of OpenAI that is at forefront of deep learning research and development. Below are the stories about them, where you will see how to build a household robot with Pieter Abbeel: Why is reinforcement learning so important in building a robot? What is meta learning? Pieter’s story is deeply inspiring. You will learn about our keynote speaker Ilya Sutskever, his journey from a Ph.D. student in Geoffrey Hinton’s group inventing AlexNet, to his role in AlphaGo and Tensorflow, and a chance meeting with Elon Musk which led to founding openAI. I hope you enjoy the reading below. Join the AI Frontiers Conference this November to meet them in person. RSVP Here: https://aifrontiers.com/ How to Build a Household Robot: Pieter Abbeel's Story Pieter Abbeel is on a quest. He wants to make a robot that can cook, clean up the room, make the bed, take out the trash, and fold the laundry. The UC Berkey Professor started this quest since he was a graduate student in Andrew Ng’s group at Stanford University back in 2002. At that time, there was no robot for him to play with. He started with self-driving cars and helicopters. In 2004, Abbeel published the paper Apprenticeship Learning via Inverse Reinforcement Learning. He proposed a new approach to train robots by observing an expert performing a task. He showed the feasibility of this approach in a simulation of self-driving cars... RSVP Here: https://aifrontiers.com/ The Journey to Founding OpenAI: Ilya Sutskever’s Story The speaker on the stage talked slowly and clearly. All the AI jargons became simple, weaved together in one beautiful framework. People who know him would not be surprised as he is the one behind some of those jargons. But it is a surprise for many people that he is also leading a billon-dollar nonprofit organization, whose mission is preparing humanity for the unavoidable proliferation of AI. Ilya Sutskever, who founded and still leads OpenAI, wants to open up AI technology to everyone and ensure that it is safe for the foreseeable future. Ilya Sutskever arrived at this role from a long journey. Sixteen years ago when he went to University of Toronto as an undergraduate student, he knew little about AI, though he was fascinated by computers. At U of Toronto he met Geoffrey Hinton... AI Frontiers Conference is bringing the most influential voice of AI together, to share their insights on the next AI frontiers. This year, we cover the newest topics such as AutoML (automated machine learning), video understanding, natural language understanding, deep reinforcement learning, robotics, drones, and more. Conference News: Udacity is going to offer “Natural language Processing for beginners” training in our conference. The training content has been posted. This is going to be an hands-on class where you will learn everything related to NLP. Tickets are limited. You can use this code p25new2 for 25% discount. This code will expire in one week. Please visit http://bit.ly/aif_eventbrite to sign up. I look forward to seeing you in our conference. Junling Hu Chair, AI Frontiers Conference

  • [4hr Online] PipelineAI End-to-End SparkML (MLflow) + TensorFlow AI (KubeFlow)
MUST RSVP HERE https://www.eventbrite.com/e/online-workshop-end-to-end-multi-cloud-continuous-machine-learning-in-production-with-pipelineai-tickets-50593042151?discount=ADVANCEDSPARK25 If you have any issues with this remote webinar option, please email [masked] and we will help. Title End-to-End, Multi-Cloud, Continuous Machine Learning in Production with Jupyter, Spark ML, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Kafka, Kubernetes, Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, Slack, KubeFlow, MLflow, GPUs, TPUs and PipelineAI Abstract Traditional machine learning pipelines end with life-less models sitting on disk in the research lab. These traditional models are typically trained on stale, offline, historical batch data. Static models and stale data are not sufficient to power today's modern, AI-first Enterprises that require continuous model training, continuous model optimizations, and lightning-fast model experiments directly in production. Through a series of open source, hands-on demos and exercises, we will use PipelineAI to breathe life into these models using 4 new techniques that we’ve pioneered: * Continuous Validation (V) * Continuous Optimization (O) * Continuous Training (T) * Continuous Experimentation (E) The Continuous "VOTE" techniques has proven to maximize pipeline efficiency, minimize pipeline costs, and increase pipeline insight at every stage from continuous model training (offline) to live model serving (online.) Using the latest advancements in real-time AI from the open source PipelineAI project, we will build a continuous, serverless model training and deployment pipeline using GPUs, Spark ML, TensorFlow, Kafka, Kubernetes, JupyterLab, and PipelineAI Streaming data is generated in real-time from the other attendees using Slack to crowd-source the data labeling. This newly-labeled data is used to continuously train and deploy new models. We will use PipelineAI and Istio with Kubernetes to quickly - and safely - deploy the new models to a live production environment. Similar to canary deployments of classic microservices, the new models are exposed to only a small amount of production traffic. Slowly, we will shift more traffic to the new models. Using reinforcement learning, multi-armed bandits, and metrics from Prometheus/Grafana, live traffic is automatically routed to the winning models based on a given reward function such as MAXIMIZE(number of signups) or MINIMIZE(cost per prediction). All demos run on a hybrid-cloud, open source, GPU and TPU-based, Kubernetes cluster optimized for the machine learning and artificial intelligence use cases that we commonly see at PipelineAI. Bio Chris Fregly is Founder at PipelineAI, a Real-Time Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Startup based in San Francisco. He is also an Apache Spark Contributor, a Netflix Open Source Committer, founder of the Global Advanced Spark and TensorFlow Meetup, author of the O’Reilly Training and Video Series titled, "High Performance TensorFlow in Production with Kubernetes and GPUs." [8:00pm] Talk 2: Privacy by Design, Data Privacy Law & A.I. in 2019 The data privacy expectations of consumers and business partners have exponentially evolved--along with global data protection laws that directly impact developers and product managers. In this session, we will overview how significant advances in the analytical capabilities of modern computing will both challenge and inform data privacy regulations and norms in the coming year—as well as the likely enforcement actions of the regulators that interpret them. With this in mind, we will look slightly ahead to 2019 being right around the corner and evaluate the key reminders, operational considerations, and data governance takeaways involving: —The European Union’s GDPR (PbyD+ security requirements + ADM) —The U.S. FTC’s priorities in this realm—plus changing state laws —How regulators and legislators may decide to define even what constitutes “artificial intelligence”, or what satisfies algorithmic transparency —How laws are requiring innovators/engineers/creators to accountably put the informed user first and in control Speaker Bio Darren Abernethy is Senior Counsel at TrustArc in San Francisco. Throughout his time in private practice and in the private sector, Darren has worked with companies large and small on establishing effective, tailored data governance programs; demonstrating legal compliance with privacy laws and international data transfer frameworks; and furthering responsible digital advertising campaigns and practices. #################### YOU MUST RSVP HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/meetup-real-time-multi-cloud-mlai-with-pipelineai-tensorflow-gpu-tpu-spark-kafka-tickets-48092437776 ####################
