What we're about

This group is for anyone interested in organizing multi-day outdoors trips. Activities can range from backpacking, climbing or mountaineering to cycle touring and bike packing, pack rafting, sailing, or ski touring.

Trips take time and planning to be successful - so meeting up to organize them is highly encouraged. Here on the meetup page, please introduce yourself:
What sort of experience do you have? (if any). Lots of experience allows you to help lead trips, if that’s something you want to do. Also, let us know what activities you want to try that you haven’t done before.

Whether your dream outing spans a few days or a few weeks, this network may help you find a partner or learn useful info from likeminded adventurers.

Meeting on the Common

Boston Common

Notes from our first meeting on March 24: For any cyclists looking to do a fun ride now that spring is underway, Steve suggested the Midnight Marathon ride on Sunday night, April 14. It starts from the commuter rail station in Hopkinton and goes for 30 miles into Boston. https://www.facebook.com/events/253131865557885/ Most of my outdoor experience is cycling-related, so I want to start planning some outings out to the cape or up the north shore. I will probably scout the routes ahead of time - it will be best to do a trip like this before Memorial Day when the summer crowds hit. Expect to spend one night out at a hotel (or camping if you prefer). If you would be interested in a trip like this, please let us know asap so that we can start to plan it out! Also at the first meeting, Mohit expressed interest in going up to the white mountains. He moved here recently and wants to check out the local scenery. Send him a message if you’re interested in going up to NH for a day trip! Jon mentioned interest in backpacking trips. I hope we get more backpackers at this next meeting. My personal goal this summer is to finish the VT long trail and complete as much of the New England portion of the AT as possible. Anyone with river running, island hopping or general boating experience is highly encouraged to attend future meetings, as a number of us have expressed interest in learning the ropes of water travel. Thanks for reading and I hope to see you on the 7th! - Isaac
