*NPM* 3 Year Anniversary at Chicago Botanic Gardens!!!

~*Hey, Fellow Nature Photographers!!! It's Our Third Year Anniversary at NPM!!!

Come on Out and Join us to Celebrate Our Anniversary by Going Back to the First Place we had a Meetup, and One of our Favorite Spots to Photograph Nature Together!!!

~*~ The Chicago Botanic Gardens!!! ~*~

I really hope You can make it out to Our Special Anniversary Spring Flower Shoot!!!

laughing This will be The Beginning of a Great Spring and Summer Together with "Nature Photographer's Meetup"!!!

~* Let's Meet in front of the Gift Shop and Head out Together to Photograph all of the Delights of Spring Flowers for 2011!!!  We will meetup on Saturday the 21st, in the morning, for Beautiful Warm Morning Lighting on the Flowers, and plan to Stay as Long as You Desire!!!

~* If anyone wants to have lunch together at the garden, we can discuss this when we meet in the morning... They have a great little cafe, that would be a nice place for us!

***Please Note that Our Rain Date for this Event will be the Following Day, Sunday May 22nd, same time/same place, you will be notified by email of any changes in date or details.***

~* BLOOMING AT THE GARDEN... will be Hundreds of thousands of bulbs, including sunny daffodils, electric blue Siberian squill, and early tulips blooming in the Bulb Garden and other gardens at CBG!
Trees and shrubs putting on a brief but brilliant show include magnificent magnolias, pink and white flowering cherries of all sorts and redbuds. As cheery forsythias fade, snowy white serviceberries put on a show. A beautiful spot to visit is the Japanese Garden, edged with graceful chartreuse weeping willows and spotted with white and pink magnolias and Nanking cherries. Evening Island is covered with daffodils, grape hyacinths and bishop’s cap. Hot spots for pansies and other colorful annuals include the Heritage Garden, Sensory Garden and Enabling Garden. Sounds Perfect after a long cold winter!!!

Good News!!! I have just read that in Glencoe there is now ONLY a 10% chance of showers until around noon, so we should be fine for at least a few hours. Chances of rain go up to 30% from 1 - 3pm. Not too bad, it actually looks pretty good 4 us! *TIP: You could bring a plastic garbage bag to "quickly" cover your camera gear if it starts to drizzle while out in the gardens. I'm also bringing a small umbrella to cover my camera/tripod setup so I can keep shooting when it's drizzling! :0) Yeah!

Good Morning All!!! Too Bad the forcast isn't that great for this weekend... I think we may be able to get in some shooting before the rain sets in or between showers. We can also shoot indoors in the green houses, and plan a return as soon as possible to the outdoor gardens. We can also discuss the possibility of going to Garfield Conservatory or the Judy Istock Butterfly Garden as an indoor alternate spot. Please let me know what you think, discuss it here so we all can chime in, thanks!

There is a chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday, so I WILL LEAVE US ON FOR TOMORROW!!! BUT, I WILL ALSO DO A SUNDAY MEETUP THERE TOO AT 1:00pm, for anyone who may want to come out Sunday too. Out of the 2 days we should get some nice shooting time! So if you are up for it, see you out there Saturday and Sunday!!!

Warm and partly cloudy on Saturday. Can't wait to see old friends and meet new members! Organizing a dish to pass is probably too late with this many people - but feel free to bring a lunch and we will all meet for lunch at a designated spot!
