We are an all female outdoor activity and adventure club.

Bringing together like-minded women with a sense of adventure and a spirit of fun

This year we are bouldering, kayaking, paddle boarding, climbing, abseiling, canyoning, hiking and zip-lining in the UK and Europe. (And that just whats planned so far!!)

Waiver of liability

You agree when you sign up for this group or any of the events that you have read and understand the below.

If you join us for any other event, please understand that you are responsible for your own preparedness and well-being and will hold no one else liable in case of injury or mishap. You agree not to hold the Organizer, Assistant Organizers, or any other members responsible for any injuries, mishaps, or any other situation that may happen at a planned event. You are responsible to research the event, know the area, and bring the proper gear.

Adventure women travel & activities does not provide liability insurance for the protection of individuals who may participate in any of the events planned by the Organizer or Assistant Organizers. You are responsible for your own safety and any insurance you may require.

This release extends and applies to, and also covers and includes, all unknown, unforeseen, unanticipated and unsuspected injuries, damages, loss and liability.

Your attendance on an event signifies that you have read and accept the terms of this liability waiver. By signing up for this group or event you understand that you are attending all events AT YOUR OWN RISK

Payment Policy

By RSVPing to an event you are expected to pay upfront and in full by the dates given.

Deposits - Deposits are due by the date given, missed dates will mean you are removed from the event and your space is given to the next in line. Deposits are non-refundable.

Full Payments - Full payments are due by the date given, If this date is missed you will lose your space and any deposit paid. Only fully paid spaces can be sold to another member of the group. The selling of a space can be advertised through the comment section of the event. The Party selling the space must email erika.adventurewomen@gmail.com and must CC the person who is taking the space on the email. The New attendee can either pay straight to the group and a refund will then be issued to the member OR they can arrange payment privately. The New attendee must be a member of this group and by paying are accepting the terms of this group. Any fees incurred will be deducted from any refund.

Late Arrivals - Please make sure you arrive on time to the event. If you are late please contact the host. We will do our best to meet-up with you still but if you are late the group will not wait for you. If you are late you may miss out on some or all of the event. No refunds will be given due to lateness.

This is a female only group. Please ensure you have a clear photo of yourself as your profile picture. Males will be removed upon joining. If a Male turns up to an event he will be asked to leave and forfeit any payments made.

Join us for an walk in the lovely Hertfordshire countryside.

This is a easy / medium Level Circular hike starting at the village of Little Berkhamsted

Area - Little Berhamsted
County - Hertfordshire
Length - 9.6 miles / 15.5 km
Ascent - 247 feet / 125 metres
Grade - Easy/ Medium

Total Hike - Approx. 10 miles / 16 kilometers (approx. 4 hours walking time)

Meet @ 9.20am finish walking by 1.30pm
Then Pub lunch @ 2pm

Max 8 people.

The Hike:

The hike starts in the rural village of Little Berkhampsted, walking through open countryside, farmland and woodlands. We will cross Bayford Woods, wild brook and pass through the villages of Bayford, Newgate street and Essendon. This easy level walk has gentle gradients and is suitable for beginners.

After the walk we will head the Five Horse Shoes in Little Berkhamsted for some country pub food. (meal is not included in the price)

Little Berkhamsted - meet outside the 5 horseshoes pub

Road side parking available on Church Street.

Nearest station is Hertford North, you would need to take taxi from there.

What to where & bring:

You MUST bring antibacterial hand gel

Please dress for the weather, our walks will go ahead in most weather (rain or shine) Please make sure you have a waterproof jacket with you.

Please check the weather and bring Sun cream/ hat etc. if it is warm / Waterproofs if it is wet.

We will be walking through woodland, there will be nettles/ risk of tick bites. Trousers/ leggings are recommended.

Please wear walking shoes / boots. Open toe shoes are not suitable.
The ground is likely to be wet/ muddy - Boots are recommended.

There may not be any opportunities to buy food or drink on route so please make sure you have what you need.

There will be no public toilets on the route.

This is a moderate level hike with some gentle gradients. You are responsible for your own health & safety and must be fit and well enough to hike continuously for 5-6 hours.
Please bring the right clothing, you will not be able to join if dressed inappropriately.

Our Walks are led by qualified lowland walking leaders with Mountain Training UK and Outdoor First Aiders.

No dogs are allowed on our walks.

Chilterns Hike - Woodland, Hills and Rivers, Berkhamsted - 18km Easy/ Medium

Join us for an evening walk in the Hertfordshire country side.

This is a Easy/ Medium Level Circular hike with hills Starting at Berkhampsted Train Station.

Grade - Easy / medium

Total Hike - Approx 12 miles / 18.5 kilometers (approx 4.5 hours without a break)

The Hike:

This is a walking route that starts and ends at Berkhampsted Train Station. This is a circular route via Frithsden Beeches, Great Gaddeson Berkhampsted Common, Coldharbour Farm and North Church Farm.

Typically, the scenery consists of undulating countryside with fields, woodland, hedgerows. We will also follow along parts of the Grand Union Canal. Gradients are mostly gentle though there are a few uphill sections.

By Car

Parking is available in residential street - Castle Hill Ave.
You need to drive further along where there is single yellow restrictions between 10am -12noon Mon to Fri. (please check the signs and make sure you are in the right area) OR there is paid parking at the station.

By Train:
Trains to Berkampsted from London Euston.

This is a Easy/ medium level hike with some hills and slopes. You must be physical fit & well. You are responsible for your own health & safety and must be fit and well enough to hike for 5 hours.
Please bring the right clothing, you will not be able to join if dressed inappropriately.

We will guide the group but in principle this is a self led hike, you must be responsible for yourself. Organisers are outdoor first aid qualified.

No dogs are allowed on our walks.

Xmas Santa Paddle - Kayaking Cheshunt - 3 hours - Beginners welcome

Please come join us for an Chistmas Kayaking session on the lovely Cheshunt Lake in Lee valley Hertfordshire.

Start time 9.00am
End time 12.00am
Please arrive 10 mins early so we can get set up.

No experience needed, all equipment provided.

Pop on your Santa hat and come and join us on Christmas Santa paddle, (fancy dress is optional). It will be followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Suitable for beginners.

Kit:

Please wear comfortable clothing & dress for the weather, you may get wet so please bring a change of clothing.

Everyone will be provided with a life jacket, kayak and paddle.

Please bring water.

You must bring Anti bacterial hand gel & a face mask. (you may not be able to join in without them)

We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware this activity will still go ahead in the rain. (You will splash yourself anyway!) Please dress for the weather.

Escape the Christmas chaos - Christmas week hike - East Hertfordshire - 17km

Join us for an Christmas week walk in East Herts

This is a Easy/ Medium level Circular hike starting at Thundridge village

Area - Thundridge
County - East Herts
Length - 11 miles / 17km
Ascent - 879 feet / 268 metres
Grade - Easy /Medium

Total Hike - Approx. 10 miles / 16 kilometers (approx. 4 hours walking time)

Meet @ 10 finish @ 3pm

The Hike:

The hike starts and ends at the village of Thundridge, East Herts. Apparently the most haunted places in Britain, we will begin the walk heading east past the ruins of the seasonally named Cold Christmas Church, before heading north towards Barwick ford where there are two river crossings (with bridges... we will not be wild swimming!)

We will then loop back via Colliers End and the Village of Sacombe before we are back at the start.

This walk offers a lovely mix of quaint villages, woodlands, rivers and historical landmarks and earthworks. It is easy terrain with some gentle hills. (Although can be muddy this time of year)

Meet at:

Outside Thundridge Village Hall
Residential Parking on Ermine St (please check signs and be mindful of residents)
