The band strive to be as close to the real deal as possible. Including the same instruments, effect boxes and pre amp Nirvana used to ensure they re-create the distinctive Nirvana sound. Nirvana UK's sets include the whole spectrum of Nirvana's live and studio catalogue..... not to mention a destruction of gear at the conclusion of the show. So if you like Nirvana, or just want to re-live your youth, come as you are and check them out.... you wont be disappointed. Herts Young Mariners Base Outdoor Centre
Join me for an evening of climbing & abseiling in Lee Valley 2 hour climbing and abseiling session Cost £10 P/P Meet at 6.30pm to start at 6.45pm Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience We will be climbing outside on an artificial climbing wall There are lots of routes which vary from easy to difficult so you can push yourself as hard as you like. We’ll be provided with the coaching and all the kit you need for this fun and informative introduction to climbing. please note: This isn't a private booking so there could be other people also on the activity - Limited number of spaces. What to wear: Please bring clothing that is easy to move around in and trainers. Make sure you dress for the weather as we will be outdoors. How to get there: Really easy to get to by train - Liverpool st station to Cheshunt, walk to the centre (about 2 mins away) please be there by 6.30 By Car - head to the HYMB for 6.30 We will meet by reception. Join me on this Autumnal Hike in the Chilterns (Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty) This is a Medium Level Circular hike with some hills Starting at Tring Station in Hertfordshire Total Hike - Approx 10 miles / 16 kilometers (approx 5-6 hours) Meet @ 9.20 ready to start @ 9.30 - finish around 16.30 £5 P/P The Hike: This is a well marked walk, we are self guiding the route following the markers along the way. A 10 mile circuit passing through the National Trust Ashridge Estate. Starts from Tring Station and through picturesque Aldbury along The Ridgeway National Trail to Ivinghoe Beacon, returning via the Ashridge boundary trail and the Chiltern Way. You can enjoy the contrasts between the two long distance footpaths: airy ridges on The Ridgeway and the patchwork of woods and fields on the Chiltern Way. There are two pubs along the route, we will stop for toilet & drink breaks Points of interest: Aldbury Village - Picturesque village, filming location for James Bond, The Avengers & Midsummer Murders. Aldbury Nowers Nature Reserve - The reserve is managed by the wildlife trust. Rare species of flowers & glow worms are found here. Ivinghoe Beacon: The Beacon stands at the end of a ridge so there is a great view. From the top you can see Tring, the vale of Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and Dunstable Downs. To the east the white lion of Whipsnade cut into the hillside. Red Kites can often be seen flying around the hills. Ashridge Estate: The estate is over 700 years old, former home of Queen Elizabeth 1st. The parkland is a haven for wildlife and is famous for its herds of fallow deer. How to get there: By Car: Tring Station - Tring HP23 5QT (Pay & Display) By Train: Euston Station - West Midlands Trains Approx 35-50 mins (Recommended - Departs 8:34 Arrives 9.20) We will meet at the station car park What to Wear & Bring: Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather Rainproof Jacket / Trousers Layers - Micro Fleece Hat / Gloves if needed Hiking / Walking Boots / shoes Water - At least 2 litres Energy Bars Lunch This is a Medium level hike with some hills and slopes. You must be physical fit & well. You are responsible for your own health & safety and must be well enough to hike. I am NOT a hike or walk leader, I will guide the group but in principle this is a self led hike. 5 Burnt Oak Broadway
Come an have a go at Bouldering This is a 1hr intro lesson to Bouldering with equipment and instructor. After the lesson you can stay and join the rest of the group (We usually until about 6.30pm) Lesson starts @ 4.15 - 5.30 Cost is £15.75 (includes PayPal fees & meet-up fees) The lesson is with one of the centres instructors and they will teach you proper technique, how to fall properly and general safety. It includes shoe hire and chalk. Bouldering uses lower walls with out ropes and crash mats and is ideal for anyone with no experience with climbing. Bouldering is a fun and Social sport & everyone is welcome. Don't wear any rings or watches that might get scratched. Padlock for the Lockers Drink How to get there: By Car - Head along the A1 to: 5 Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware HA8 5LD (Takes me about 20 mins from Welwyn Garden City) Parking - there is some parking out the front, also residential streets near by that I have parked at before with no issues (just check the parking signs!) By Train - Nearest station is Burnt Oak Underground Station (Northern Line) We will meet @ 4.15pm by the benches at the front, the lesson starts at 4.30 but you need to be there at 15 mins early. After the lesson we will regroup and you can stay and climb with us until you are too tired to do anymore!! This is a intro lesson to bouldering, after completing you can join us on future meetups with the main group you are also entitled to go back to the climbing centre and use the facilities a your leisure. 4 people max *Please note that this is a group lesson and you will be joined by other users of the centre also on the lesson. Bring a drink and a padlock for the lockers.
