Hikers from all over the world are drawn to this trail to experience true American wilderness and to challenge themselves—whether for two miles or two thousand. The only illustrated book officially published with the Pacific Crest Trail Association., it comes with an official trail map folded into an inside pocket.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER--BARNEY SCOUT MANN
In 2007, Scout and his wife Sandy thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. Over five months they walked a continuous line from Mexico to Canada, 2,650 miles. A backpacker for 50 years, Mann was 13 when he went on his first 50-miler, a week-long backpack in the Sierra Nevada. His 35-pound pack and 80-pound body fought to a draw. It rained every day. “I loved it.” Mann says, "I'm more at home in the outdoors than on a downtown street." The New York Times calls Scout "the informal historian for the trail" and Backpacker Magazine calls him a "geek for trail history. Come see for yourself!
Scout served as Board Chair of the Pacific Crest Trail Association from 2012-15. The PCTA is the only non-profit that maintains and protects the entire Pacific Crest Trail. For further information go to: PCTA.org
