This hike drops you 1500 foot down into the lush and remote Devil's canyon. For the first couple of miles, the trail works its way down a series of switchbacks to a seasonal stream. The trail then meanders back and forth across this stream as it runs through a densely wooded, deep canyon. At about the 3.5 mile mark the official trail ends at a trail camp. Adventuresome hikers can continue (http://www.localhikes.com/Hikes/DevilsCanyon_4472.asp#) further downstream boulder hopping and bushwhacking, while enjoying cascades and a 20 foot waterfall 2 miles down from trails end.
Reserve the dates for car camping and day hikes. First come first serve site, stay Friday and Saturday nights or just Saturday night. More info to come. :)
OK pack, we see the list is growing and we're a month away from the event. We need to know who's camping one or both nights.
Now; food, deserts, mineral spirits, we can not have fun without those three basic ingredients. :-D
The pictures below are from a hike to Devils Canyon two weeks ago; later on I'll post some campsite pictures.
