After the successful shoot at Grand Central Station with Ballerinas, we at AIP are thrilled to now offer a workshop in a studio setting with 3 dancers. This workshop is designed to giving you the skills you need to confidently work with dancers. Our focus is not only on developing images to contribute to your portfolio but also to understand the language of dancers. One of our dancers will spend some time to show you how to pose/anticipate movements to get you ready for the shoot. We will also experiment with various lighting setups and backgrounds. We have 3 models (2 female and 1 male) and many colorful outfits for them to wear and we will rotate them throughout the shoot. The dancers we will be employing: Jeffrey Salce Marika Kossakowski Rebecca Walden BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THIS EVENT, REFUNDS WILL ONLY BE GIVEN IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED OR RESCHEDULED. PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR PHOTO GALLERY. IN NECESSARY, FINAL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE SENT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT.

PHOTOGRAPH BALLERINAS AND MODERN DANCERS WITH A BACKGROUND SIMILAR TO THE CLASSICAL GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE OF EUROPEAN CHURCHES SUCH AS NOTRE DAME. PHOTOGRAPH BALLERINAS UNDER CONTROLLED LIGHTING CONDITIONS IN THE ICONIC GRANDEUR OF THE CHAPEL AT PRINCETON UNIVERSITY. AIP HAS MADE ARRANGEMENTS WITH PRINCETON UNIVERSITY THAT WILL ALLOW US TO HOLD A 3 HOUR PHOTO SHOOT IN THE CATHEDRAL THAT BEARS A CLOSE RESEMBLANCE TO MANY OF THE GRAND CATHEDRALS OF EUROPE WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION TO USE OUR OWN CONTROLLED LIGHTING TO ASSURE THAT WE CAN SHOOT UNDER A CONTROLLED AND CONSTANT LIGHT SOURCE WITH A CONSTANT COLOR TEMPERATURE. IN ORDER TO INSURE A SUCCESSFUL PHOTO SHOOT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS, WE WILL SET UP TWO STATIONS USING THE CHURCH ITSELF AS OUR BACKGROUND. EACH STATION WILL FEATURE A PHOTO LIGHT STAND AND A DEDICATED BALLERINA/DANCER. EACH STATION WILL HAVE IT'S OWN SUPERVISOR/INSTRUCTOR. OUR OWN PADMA INGUVA WILL SUPERVISE ONE STATION AND MALCOLM KAHN THE OTHER. PARTICIPANTS SHOULD MEET THE GROUP AT 2:15 P.M. IN THE CATHEDRAL. AFTER A SHORT ORIENTATION, WE'LL BREAK UP INTO TWO GROUPS AND HEAD TO OUR RESPECTIVE STATIONS TO BEGIN SHOOTING. BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THIS EVENT, REFUNDS WILL ONLY BE GIVEN IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED OR RESCHEDULED. IF NECESSARY, FINAL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE SENT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT. SINCE THE UNIVERSITY IS IN SUMMER RECESS, WE WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE THE CATHEDRAL ALL TO OURSELVES. NOW FOR A SPECIAL BONUS: THE CAMPUS AT PRINCETON BEARS A STRIKING RESEMBLANCE TO THE INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED CAMPUSES OF CAMBRIDGE AND OXFORD. PARTICIPANTS ARE URGED TO ARRIVE EARLY AND WANDER AROUND THE CAMPUS SHOOTING FREELY WITH NO RESTRICTIONS. AGAIN, SINCE THE SCHOOL IS IN SUMMER RECESS, THERE WON'T BE MANY PEOPLE CLUTTERING UP YOUR BACKGROUND. IT'S A GREAT CHANCE TO PRACTICE YOUR ARCHITECTURAL AND WIDE ANGLE SHOOTING TECHNIQUES. COME AS EARLY AS YOU WANT AND SHOOT TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT. IF YOU HAVE A TILT & SHIFT LENS, NOW IS THE TIME TO USE IT. DON'T MISS THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY. SIGN UP NOW.
"Mastering The Lights Of The Night Sky" is about photographing the Milky Way Galaxy and Mike Ver Sprill's techniques to create cleaner and sharper night images WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: You'll learn how to take sharper and cleaner (less noise) nightscape images and you'll also learn beginner and intermediate Milky Way techniques. Our presenter, Mike Ver Sprill aka Milky Way Mike is and artist and photographer who live’s his life to the beat of his own drum. He takes the initiative to venture out on his own even if it means waking up in the back of his car, hours away from home, just to capture a photograph. Those are the moments when he realizes his passion has become an obsession. Mike's work has been featured in a National Geographic, Weather.com, Photography Week Digital Magazine and New Jersey's Travel Guide cover photo for 2014 and 2016. He has dubbed himself "Milky Way Mike”, although his photography work goes way beyond the night sky. Michael started his photography journey over 15 years ago slowly molding into the artist he is today. His goal is to break the shackles of the mundane and live a life of adventure. Even though the road can be lonely at times, he knows those thoughts are temporary while in search for his next great masterpiece.
