Falls Lake Trail/MST Sections 5 & 6 - 10 Miles

  • 4 days ago · 9:00 AM

Join your THOG friends for the next in a series of hikes along the Falls Lake Trail, a section of the NC Mountains-to-Sea Trail.  This week, we will hike sections 5 and 6 in North Raleigh through Blue Jay Point County Park.

Due to limited parking at the trailhead, we will meet and carpool to the trailhead and then hike Sections 5 and 6 up and back.  The hike will be about 9-10 miles, so please plan on at least 3 hours. Fit hikers only as we will be hiking at a brisk pace with only a few quick breaks.  This hike is a 3 by the THOG hiking scale - slight intermittent elevation gains, rocks, tree roots.

This section may cross game land so wearing blaze orange is recommended.

• 1 - 2 liters of water

• Snack

• Good hiking boots

• Blaze Orange Vest (not required)

No dogs or children please.

I will email all participants with a Yes RSVP 24 hours before the hike with the carpool location.
