Sal's Branch Trail in Umstead State Park

Hello Fellow Hikers!

Let's meet for a hike this Wednesday! The temperature will be about 70 degrees!!!  We will hike at about 3 miles per hour.  The Sal's Branch Trail is 2.8 miles long, rated as "moderate", and attendees can choose to hike it one or more times as desired.  I plan on hiking it twice.  It is a loop trail blazed by orange circles, rather rooty, and it passes by Big Lake.  We can meet in the Visitors Center (which has rest rooms) or just out front of it.  We should need about 1.5 hours to complete 2 laps, not including the few minutes spent at Big Lake and between laps.  If you plan on doing 2 laps, please consider bringing water and a source of light if desired.

If you have never hiked this trail, I am providing the park phone numbers and a link to the trail map below.
