Christmas Candlelight Carol Service

One of the Christmas highlights in Hamilton is the annual Candlelight Carol Service at Central Presbyterian Church, a long standing tradition for over 80 years. This was the first service of lessons and carols to take place in Hamilton, in 1935.

Presented by the Choir of Central Presbyterian Church with organ, percussion and special guests the Hogtown Brass, all under the direction of Roger Bergs. There will be beautifully performed carols, both traditional and new, along with Scripture readings and rousing singing from the congregation.

The magnificent sanctuary, beautiful at any time of year, takes on an added richness in the warmth of candlelight, and lovely decorations. Plan to attend this traditional service, featuring Central’s fine choir.

The Candlelight Service takes place on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, but an offering will be received.

Central Presbyterian Church is situated at the corner of Charlton Avenue West and Caroline Street. Please note the street is Charlton Avenue West, the meetup map will sometimes show you Charlton Avenue East if you're using an Apple phone.

The church fills up quickly so I'm posting the meetup time for 30 minutes before the service starts (service starts at 7:00 pm this year)

Parking is only available on the streets in the surrounding area.

Once again I will be in the choir so I'm looking for anyone who is willing to act as the point person to try to gather people together. The church does fill up very quickly so it can be a challenge to save seats. Everyone is welcome to attend on their own as well.
