Adventurous--willing to try new things and have fun. This is a loose description of what this group is about for female members of the LGBTQ community. So if this sounds like you and are 40+ years old, then please join us.
I've been a member of several great women's Meetup groups over the years, including a couple of my own, so thought I'd take the best elements of some and add them here. I realize as we age we lose friends and are not able to do strenuous activities like those younger. Maybe we needed to relocate here and want to make new friends. Whatever the reason, you are welcomed.
What will we do? That's up to you; however, here are a few activities we might do: Day trips, weekend travels, dining in interesting, exotic restaurants, walking in nature, festivals, sports events, etc. The sky's the limit as long as it's exciting to a few in the group.
There will be a $5.00 annual fee to be paid by the end of 60 day trial either 3 ways: Paypal, snail mail, or in person. Details are on the group message board (Click "More" on group page). Also a facial picture of you is required before joining. This is a private group and I know discretion is a must for some; however, we need to know who will be joining us at Meetups and for our members' safety. What goes on here, stays within the group.
This group is also designed to be clique free so if you are partnered and/or know group members already, please be mindful and mix/mingle. Everyone should feel safe and comfortable here. Event organizers are welcomed and needed to make this the best group it can be.
Home base is Wake Co. However we can meet anywhere there's interest and an event organizer willing to host. If you don't see anything that gets your eye, please feel free to make a suggestion. This group is for all of us to enjoy!
Disclaimer: No member of this group or anyone connected with Meetup will be responsible for any injuries or illnesses that occur during a Meetup. Please only RSVP for activities you know you are healthy enough to participate in.
About me: Yes, I would consider jumping out of a perfectly good airplane!
