CLASSES CONTINUE TAKING PLACE ON THE WEEKEND!!
After the success of January weekend classes, I am pleased to announce a continuous weekend class timetable all the way through to June (and expecting to continue beyond June, of course) To ensure a continuous stream of classes I will also invite a number of guest teachers to teach on the weekends when I am not available to teach and to offer you a more varied mix of yoga styles throughout these months.
Current yoga styles on offer are: Hatha Yoga, Sivanada Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga. The main style I teach is Hatha yoga/Sivananda yoga (currently the majority of the classes on offer are Hatha yoga) and guest teachers offer Vinyasa and Power yoga flow classes.
EXTENDED CLASS TIME
Reflecting on the feedback I had from many of you, I am also very happy to be able to offer a longer class of 1h30m, which will include more asanas, more pranayama (breathing exercises) and a deeper relaxation practice.

PS. As I do not have a car, I would ask all to please bring your own mats, for those who wish, it will be possible to buy mats at the lesson and I would then ask you to bring them to each class with you.

What to expect from a Hatha Yoga Class: (90min)
Hatha yoga style incorporates a series of isolated postures (yoga asanas) that are held for between 30sec and 3mins. With rest in between. This style of class always incorporates deep relaxation and breathing exercises in addition to the practice of yoga asanas (yoga postures).
My ‘home school’ and primary influence of my teachers during gaining my qualification is Hatha Sivananda yoga style. However, I aim to teach a varied mix of lessons to continually evolve the classes, build on our practice and introduce variety. I also have some colleagues who teach different yoga styles who I plan to invite as guest teachers at a later stage.
What to bring with you:
I ask you to each bring your own mat. As I don’t have a car so it will be difficult for me to carry enough mats for everyone for each class. But to make it easier for people who do not currently own a yoga mat - I will have some mats available for sale at each class. It will be yours to keep and I would ask you to bring it with you to each class. The mats I can source for you are €20 each and are made from special non-toxic environmentally friendly materials.
You may wish to bring a bottle of water with you (but not necessary).
What to wear:
You are welcome to wear anything you feel comfortable in, but generally it is advised to wear cotton clothes that does not restrict your movement in any way. Yoga is practiced barefoot with no socks on but to ensure your comfort during the relaxation part or the class, you can bring a pair of socks and a jumper.
There are no dedicated changing facilities in the room but, should you need to, you will be able to get changed in one of the bathrooms in the building.
Can be adapted to all levels from beginner to intermediate, so all levels are welcome at all classes. To accommodate the needs of all students, I will provide a short introduction to yoga practice at the beginning (if there are any people who have never done it before) and explanations of exercises as we go. I will also give adaptations for certain postures to make them more or less advanced as necessary for different people. I will demonstrate all the postures in detail and my yoga practice is usually performed at a pace that will allow everyone to follow comfortably.
If English is not your first language, I also speak French and Russian so additional explanations will be possible in those languages as well.
Although yoga has many very beneficial health effects, to make sure no harm is made during beginning of your practice, I will ask everyone to fill out a short health questionnaire when you come to your first class. I will use this information confidentially to adapt the exercises specifically to cater for your needs (if you have any).

If you find it easier to pay for 10 or 20 classes in one go, I will be happy to accept that and issue you a class pass. They do not have an expiry date and you can also use them to attend any types of classes or use the credit to pay for other services we offer - e,g. weekend workshops, retreats and events!
