What we're about

When you hear the sound of an African drum does it get under your skin and make you want to MOVE? It starts with the Djembe, the drum that dates back to the beginning of modern history. We invite you to join a group of Djembe/African drummers enthusiasts who wish to "converse" using this wonderful instrument.

Every 2nd and 4th Saturday we hold a djembe class so you can learn to play this traditional instrument. There is much more to this drum than just making noise. To really honor the culture where this drum originated, learning to play the traditional rhythms with correct technique honors the culture and the djembe's history.

After the class is a free form drum jam to practice what was taught, break through fear of soloing and connect more deeply with others in the circle with your own jam.

Once you know how to play, then you will feel more confidant at one of the many other drum circles in the county.
