  • AAAW Downtown Summer "Walking Club" Starts Walking!

    Whole Foods Market

This is a summer recurring AAAW meet up "walking club" for those with some mornings free, weekdays or weekends, & don't mind getting up & out early to walk! Summer only (May-Sept) due to that's when us ageless need to get out early, to avoid dangerous sun & heat! We'll start on Tuesday, last day of April, but days will vary & times will get earlier. For AAAW members & humans only! I'll be doing this regularly as always, as long as my feet hold out, sometimes preferring to go alone. My usual walks vary, but go to all parts of downtown, including West, & across to East Austin too! Mostly sidewalks, seeking shade! Sometimes parts of city trails, including Hike & Bike & Shoal Creek. Option to leave or eat after, or sit on a downtown patio for coffee or cold drink & chat! PARKING & MEETING SPOT for THIS WALK: We'll park at Whole Foods & meet on NW corner patio. You can first grab coffee or cold drink or use restrooms! So far, haven't had a problem with parking 2+ hours. Bring lots of water! We can do a combo Shoal Creek Trail & west downtown sidewalk walk. Then we can eat lunch at WF afterward, or stop someplace new & exciting nearby?

Can also share history of Pecan Street with you... now famously Dirty 6th Street! More details to come!
