Every modern (software) organisation is working agile, but which agile is working for which organisation?

To gain a clear understanding in this, we will be welcoming 2 speakers to give us a better insight in this matter.

Jan, Managing Partner in Kunlabora, will talk us through the kind of agile that can be used successfully in large-scale environments.

Simon, Agile coach & transformation consultant, will explain us the possible degrees of agile transformations, as each environment doesn’t benefit from a full-blown agile transformation.

‘Maintaining the Agile mindset in large organisations’ by Jan Van Reusel

Bio: Jan Van Reusel is a passionate operations manager in bigger software development projects and teams. The agile mindset is key for success within these organizations, where he is guiding the teams in the direction of openness, collaboration and continuous learning.

Talk: The Agile manifesto is developed in a world of software projects. Technics in working agile within software development teams and projects are written out in detail. But how do you initiate and maintain these culture in a larger environment. Jan will give examples from his extensive experience and the core of his newest company Kunlabora, where the agile manifesto key is within the companies DNA.

‘Degrees within Agile transformations’ by Simon Claes

Bio: Simon Claes bring creativity and pragmatism during transformations. Thanks to his broad background he is combining technics of lean, agile, scaled agile, design thinking and change management to a unique whole. He doesn’t focus on adapting the methodologies according to the manifesto, but according to selecting the element that will give a team or department a boost. He is maximizing the effect of these changes by adapting a structured change approach.

Talk: Most companies are conscious about this, as we have to change our ways of working. Organisations aren’t sufficiently agile and according to Gallup’s number only one of eight employees are actively engaged. The question is: how to you activate and establish this concretely? You don’t have to go ‘all the way’ with a complete transformation. In all circumstances, small adaption are already giving a significant boost. After these presentation, you’re going home with a couple of concrete methods which you can implement already next morning within your team(s)!
