OPO - Open Participatory Organization - is an open architecture to facilitate creating such organizations. It does not require a whole systems approach to adoption. OPO has been designed with a realistic approach to how people naturally are and has been built on top of world class level understanding of complexity, human psychology and group dynamics.
An OPO is an organization that will naturally evolve itself based on need, without having to use a manager hierarchy or an organizational chart. Decision making, governance and policies are all transparent, accessible for participation from any employee and allowed to emerge over time.
Unlike other approaches for self-organization, OPO does not emphasize strictly defined roles and individual responsibilities, instead it relies on cross functional teamwork and trusts teams to self-organize into roles and individual responsibilities based on needs. Open participation is based on the free will to participate and do so authentically as the fully human beings that we all are.
