Agile at Scale SIG - How to Coach Sr Leaders and live to tell about it!

Topic: How to Coach Sr Leaders and live to tell about it! It's inevitable, and almost unavoidable, that Professionals of all skill-sets and experience will encounter "coaching up" situations. In this session, I will review three coaching techniques that can be used in Sr Leader and "coaching up" scenarios. These techniques will provide participants with new/alternative ways to prepare for, engage, follow up, and reflect with Sr Leaders. These techniques are heavily based in the core values of openness, courage, and respect and rooted in the fundamentals of cultural and human interaction. DevOps SIG - Kubernetes + Argo? Probably the right CI/CD combo

Topic: Kubernetes + Argo? Probably the right CI/CD combo Tired of letting people manually kubectl apply? Ever enjoy a long night of wondering why there are no manifests for manifests? Do your devs beg you to be allowed into prod, but you remember what happened last time? Then you should seriously consider releasing the kraken on your CI/CD with Argo, the friendly deployment octopod! In this talk, we present the CI/CD pipeline which Bestow uses to safely usher code from PR to Prod. This week let's welcome Lee Watson, Senior Automation Engineer at Bestow, who will share his Team's expertise when implementing CI/CD workflows using Kubernetes and Argo. Special thanks to our Venue and Food Sponsor: Booz Allen Hamilton. Anyone's office around downtown? Nice! We'll meet at BAH Office in Capital Factory, so give those legs a stretch (or hop on a Scooter). Venue: 701 Brazos Street, Suite 800, floor 8 See you soon! Speaker: Lee Watson Lee is a Senior Automation Engineer at Bestow, a startup on a mission to improve life insurance using big data and technology to bring simple and affordable coverage to everyone. He spent many years wrangling software automation for hardware design before realizing that SoCs are just microservices in disguise but with a much smaller power budget. Rather than focusing on one CPU at a time, he read a MongoDB blog post and realized that web-scale is the only way to go. He is currently spending his time containerizing microservices on the cloud.
