As a sequel to our Agile engineering series, we are excited to announce that we'll be hosting a special session by Microsoft Developer Division, where Michael Köster will be sharing with us how Microsoft has gone through agile and devops transformation.
Our Journey to Agile and DevOps - How Microsoft’s product development processes have changed in the era of Agile
Start with a waterfallian, hierarchical, shrink-wrap software behemoth called Microsoft and grind it through product development practice modernization until it wakes up to the new Agile world. Add experimentation, embrace Open Source principles, change to a data-driven culture, and break up job roles and responsibilities for more than 3000 software developers, testers, program managers and other roles. Stumble along the way, make big and small mistakes, learning and measuring as you go. Maybe you end up with a service that accumulates a few million users. This is the story of our journey – the story of the Developer Division at Microsoft.
18:45 - 19:00 : Check in
19:00 – 19:30 : Networking (over a social drink and snacks)
19:30 – 20:45: The talk
20:45 – 21:30: Q&A, open discussion, more mingle and networking
This is bound to be an interesting and interactive event. Do spread the word using the link http://agilemunich.org/events/231393530 and the Twitter handle @agilemunich_org (https://twitter.com/agilemunich_org).
The venue will be at Microsoft headquarter in Unterschleißheim. Please note the following to help us with the logistics:
• Upon arrival participants will need to check in at the reception and receive a visitor badge. We'll try to pre-print the badges, but please plan to arrive a bit before 7pm to allow time for check-in. In addition if your membership name on Agile Munich's site does not reflect your real name please take a minute to change that so that your badge can be pre-printed before your arrival.
• The venue capacity is limited to 80 people. Please make sure that you update your RSVP in case your plans to attend have changed and you cannot really make it anymore to allow others to join.
Directions: S1 (every 20 mins) to Flughafen/Freising. Note that you'd need to get off at Lohof, not Unterschleißheim.
