From: Sandy M.
Sent on: Monday, July 9, 2012 6:20 PM

Hi all,

Joe Justice and Tim Myer are keynote speakers at Agile 2012 in Texas later this year and have kindly agreed to speak at AgileWelly where they will talk about WIKISPEEED, the first automotive manufacturer to use agile methods.

A special thanks goes to Tait Radio in Christchurch who are so friendly to "lend" us Tim and Jo to make this event possible.

Please note:

  • We are not sure about the venue yet but will keep this site updated
  • Start time will be around 7pm. Further details to come.
  • We will probably provide nibbles and drinks between 5.15 and 7pm
  • Please RSVP if you'd like to come as we'll need to make sure to find the right venue.
  • If your RSVP status changes please be fair and update it here as there might be people on the waiting list.

Managing a collaborative multi-national team in real time.Attend this amazing presentation with Joe Justice and Tim Myer, and see just how cool Agile can be. Find out what happens when a consultant with mad Agile skills starts building a car in his garage in his free time. Not any car, but an X Prize car, that gets 100 miles to the gallon. Learn about the real, tangible ways Joe turned a dream into a game-changing auto manufacturing company, building a 100mpg, hot, sexy, sporty, road legal car.

Speaker Bios:

Joe Justice is a Seattle-area agile business process consultant and entreprenerd, and a registered automotive manufacture since 2006.

In 2010, Joe’s X Prize team, WIKISPEED, used agile process to tie for 10th place in the mainstream class of the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize, a $10 million challenge for 100+ MPGe automobiles.

WIKISPEED now uses agile process to rapidly solve problems for social good. Joe has spoken on social web application development, project methodology, and agile best practices and is a nominated TEDx speaker and currently a business process consultant at SolutionsIQ and CEO of WIKISPEED.

Tim Myer has been working with teams in telecommunications, consumer finance, healthcare, government and the social web to deliver better products to market faster since 2004. Most recently, he has been a coach for enterprise organizational change initiatives at GE and AT&T. Initially attracted by the challenges of coordination among a globally dispersed Agile/Lean/Scrum team and by the success of WIKISPEED's application of iterative software-design disciplines to hardware manufacturing, he joined the WIKISPEED team last December in order to revolutionize the automotive industry one modular car at a time.
