Healthy Aging and the Power of Laughter: At Home with Growing Old (Berkeley)

Do you remember the all encompassing giggles and laughs of your youth? When did you last laugh like this? Laughing seems like something we do automatically, but as we age, we often "forget" to laugh or lose opportunities for laughter.  It turns out it isn't hard to do anywhere, anytime and connects us we who we are at any age.

Liz Nichols has worked with seniors for many years and helps them to look at their bodies in positive ways. She teaches Laughter Yoga and will talk about how this specific ‘breed’ of yoga that is about playfulness as much as the practice of breathing, brings out the YoYo (youngoldyoungold) in her clients and lifts their general well being. Liz is the former Storytelling Director of Stagebridge Senior Theater and a co-leader of the Oakland Lifefire Laughter Yoga Club

( This is an At Home With Growing Old (AHWGO) event, not focused on cohousing or community, although I think they have many lessons for us Aging in Community-- Raines )

Please note that this is the last event for AHWGO's 5th season. The group will continue on September 18 after a summer break with an exciting array of topics and top notch speakers. Stay tuned for news as continue to grow AWHGO into a resource that inspires multi-disciplinary solutions through concrete projects, reaches more professionals through education, advocates for “age friendly” environments that are inter-generational and guides individuals in their choices.

Hey, folks, what happened? Everybody who RSVPd here was a no-show, although we had a great time with those who came via other lists.
