Referred to as 'The Art of Peace,' Aikido is a Japanese martial art using the energy, or ki, of an attack to counter the attacker. Properly executed techniques don't require strength, making Aikido good for all ages and body types.
If you've never practiced a martial art, don't worry. We'll teach you the basics to get you started.
Improve flexibility, balance, and core muscle strength while learning practical self defence techniques.
Attendees are encouraged to come ready to work out. Shorts are not recommended. There is no obligation to buy a uniform.
Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 at the East West Connection for Martial Arts and Wellness, 5726 S 108th Street, Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
Instructor, D. Schmitt, has trained in Aikido for over 20 years and maintains strong ties to Japan where he lived and trained.
