Mr. Ward is a founding partner of Ward Law Office LLC, located in Tiffin, Ohio. He is also a registered Canadian Patent Agent. Jacob is the founding author of the legal blog "Anticipate This!" as well as an adjunct professor at the University of Toledo, College of Law.

James O. Wilson, Assistant Regional Director of the Elijah J. McCoy Midwest Regional Office, United States Patent and Trademark Office will present a program on how intellectual property plays a role in advancing your business through patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. The program will also look at advanced topics in patents including the patent process, international considerations, and micro- and small-entity status for inventors and business. Mr. Wilson has over 25 years experience working for the United States Patent and Trademark Office, working as a patent examiner in several areas, as an instructor in the Office of Patent Training and working with the Office of the Commissioner for Patents.
- Branch of the Tree - Patent Attorney with a Marketing Expert
Speakers Brian Harrod and J.D. Sanders will talk "Branch of the Tree". It's about how Patents, Trademarks and Marketing successfully work together. Brian Harrod is a patent attorney at Moxon & Associates and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at The University of Toledo. Brian also earned his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Toledo, specializing in Intellectual Property Law. J.D. Sanders has over 50 years helping clients bring their products to market. This month's meeting of the Akron Inventors Club will feature a holiday party. Bring your ideas for future speakers and help us celebrate as we close in on three years of the Akron Inventors Club. Remember this is your club! Partying starts 5:30 pm and will be held in the Microbusiness Center, located on the first floor of main library. We'll have lots of your favorite holiday refreshments such as festive punch, tasty local pizza, Jimmy Johns gourmet sandwiches, cupcakes and much more.
