April Meeting: Log Table Administration & Performance- with Keith Tate

Hospital Services Corporation

The Albuquerque SQL Server User Group (ABQSQL) will be having its next meeting on Friday, April 12th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Hospital Services Corporation, 7471 Pan American Freeway NE. Keith Tate will be sharing his insights about the best practices to use logging tables. Please join us for his presentation “Log Table Administration & Performance”. Ask Keith your SQL questions, get to know your peers, and have lunch on us! Presentation description: "In almost every environment there are 'log' tables that record a plethora of transient information. Often this data is only needed for a few hours up to a few months, but as we add more and more data our pruning of the data often interferes with production meaning that we don’t remove unwanted data. Also, the more data we collect the slower our queries become which can impact our ability to analyze the log data. In this session we will be looking at a different approach to log tables. We will discuss the purpose of log tables, a new way of setting up log tables and how to administer these tables. With this approach we will make the management of these tables automated, and seamless to our production systems, while at the same time allowing for users to analyze the data." Attend this FREE SQL training event! Kindly RSVP so we know how much pizza we should buy! PASS membership is not a prerequisite to attend this or any other monthly meeting of the Albuquerque SQL Users Group, however, you can enjoy many benefits of being a member by signing up for a FREE PASS membership at http://www.pass.org/.
