What we're about

***You must submit letter of intent and a work sample to be considered for membership. This meet-up is only for those serious about their craft.***

...and committed to the development of their prose and poetry. No genre fiction: romance, Sci-fi and mystery etc. This is strictly contemporary fiction and non-fiction. This group is about pushing work toward publication. If you have questions contact Michael L. Woodruff at plotinus1956@gmail.com

Membership will be determined by potential and commitment to the craft. I am willing to work with any writer to get their work to a publishable form, but I only want those who are serious. Send your sample work and letter to the above e-mail.

This meet-up will be an ongoing Writers' Workshop. We will not write in our meetings. You will write at home. The workshop exists to discuss work we do and to support the writer. We will model our group after the famous Iowa Writers' Workshop. The writing program I graduated from at the University of Nebraska in Omaha is a sister program of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. My credentials: I am a graduate of the Writers' Workshop out of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I have been through the process. I did receive an academic scholarship for my work, and I have publication in multiple Literary Journals under my belt. Recently, I was nominated for the PEN Robert J. Dau Award for Writing. Our monthly agenda will include: A Workshop for poetry and two workshops for prose. They will operate separately. There will be discussions on the work of published writers. I am a big believer that in order to be a successful writer you must be a good reader.
