ABOUT LINDA BROWN

As Co-founder and Executive Vice President of SCS Global Services (http://www.scscertified.com/kingfisher_certification_mark.php), Linda Brown has helped direct the development and operation of SCS’s certification and assessment programs in a variety of areas, including: life-cycle assessment, electric power environmental performance evaluation, environmentally preferable product assessment, sustainable manufacturing and agricultural production certification, indoor air quality certification, recycled content and biodegradability certification, well-managed forests and forest products, well-managed fisheries, pesticide residue free and organic foods, food safety management, and flavor-rich and nutrition-rich foods.

During her 28 years with SCS, Brown has served as Director of Communications, Director of Environmental Claims Certification, Director of Sustainable Agriculture, and Director of Quality Assurance. She has been involved in life-cycle assessment studies in a variety of industry sectors, including the electric power industry, green building materials, energy efficient appliances, biodegradable cleaning products, and telecommunications systems. Ms. Brown has authored numerous articles on environmental certification and preferability, life-cycle assessment and food safety issues. Furthermore, she has presented details of SCS programs and methods to diverse audiences around the globe. She is currently involved in national standards development activities related to sustainable agriculture and advanced life cycle assessment for public marketing claims. In addition, she is working in support of an ambitious new initiative to stop Arctic climate warming.
