What is the Alexander technique?
The Alexander Technique is a unique, evidence-based mind/body practice, developed over 120 years ago.
This subtle, yet powerful system is used by many famous actors, performers, celebrities and musicians. The principles of the Alexander Technique are designed to promote well-being, confidence, charisma, adaptability, spontaneity and change; by retraining one’s neuromuscular system, awareness, habits of posture and movement to ensure minimum effort and strain.
Many people find the Alexander technique to be very healing and therapeutic as well as a valuable tool for self-management, helping them to find a lasting solution to back pain.
We possess an inherent capacity to move freely and naturally. Moving naturally promotes ease, flow and expressiveness. However most of our movements are repetitive, automatic and often accompany harmful habits that can be the underlying cause of tension, pain and fatigue.
