I would love to "tour" this year's NYC Christmas light displays with my fellow Alive & Kickin' Members! So let's meet in Greeley Square Park where we'll start with the Macy's window displays. We'll then take a leisurely stroll up 5th Av. past Lord & Taylor, Rockefeller Center and Saks (for those who haven't heard, no holiday windows at Tiffany's this year. Adjacent to Trump Tower--a no fly/walk/shop zone!!! If anyone is interested, we can make a stop and do a little shopping at the Bryant Park Christmas Market near the NYC Public Library. The walk will take about an hour and a half and is just about 2 miles. Once we have completed our walk, everyone should be ready for a Holiday drink and a reasonably priced meal at Angelo's, 117 W. 57th Street between 6th-7th Avenues. There will be a $5.00 advance charge for anyone who plans to attend the dinner so that I can make a firm reservation with the restaurant. As you know, the holiday season is a very busy time at NYC restaurants, so I will need to make a reservation well in advance. $4.00 of the $5 will be used toward your dinner! Sorry, "No Shows" forfeit the $5.00.
Once we've finished dinner, it is an easy subway or bus ride back to Penn Station, Port Authority or Grand Central Station. I really recommend you use mass transit to avoid the holiday traffic, delays and aggravation!
I hope you can make this date and look forward to seeing you!
P.S. Just want to walk and not have dinner? You are welcome to come along for that first part of the evening. Just meet us in Greeley Square Park at 4:30 pm.
