We are a fun and diverse group of Korean culture enthusiasts of ALL ages, ethnicities and backgrounds who invite you to join us in sharing in our common interest of All Things Korean. We love Korean culture, language, food, music, dance, noraebang, dramas, movies and so much more!
Currently, due to the Stay Home-Work Safe Order (http://austintexas.gov/department/covid-19-information/stay-home-order) requiring residents to stay home as much as possible, we can only offer online meetings. We will also do our best to keep you informed of other events, news and restaurant offers. Please follow us on our instagram page @allthingskoreanatx
Please be aware that per MeetUp policy, you must be at least 18 years old to join. We welcome teenagers at our age appropriate events, as long as they are accompanied by a parent member.
We have enjoyed many activities and are planning for NEW ones, including, but not limited to: trivia nights, Kpop music and dancing at clubs, holiday activities, eating out, outdoors events (camping, hiking, pool parties), game night, cooking classes, Kpop concerts, Main Event (bowling, putt putt golf, rock climbing, laser tag), movie nights, SXSW Film, Media and Music Conference and Festival, Escape Room, festivals of all kinds and 찜질방! PLEASE let us know what you are most interested in and we will try to loop you in when we are having those events.
Also, if you'd like to join a Kakao chat group specifically for SXSW events, general chat or specific topic, DM us your kakao ID. We have many impromptu gatherings and encourage everyone to join.
Many of us are especially involved in the music scene, so if you'd like to join us and experience a Kpop concert or SXSW, come along! We learn Kpop dances twice a month so we can dance the night away at Kpop Night at the club and at Hmart. Karaoke is always a fun, affordable and spontaneous activity open to all!
A few of us are teachers who have taught in Korea. Many of you wish to travel to Korea so we may organize a group trip. A few of us are also learning Korean formally at the Austin Korean School but we also have the privilege and offer the opportunity to take extra lessons from native speakers in our group.
If you just like to relax and get away, we plan trips to King's Spa & Water Park in Dallas.
We also share American cultural and language experiences with members who are not from the USA.
We hope to create more events throughout the year so that everyone can find at least one thing they enjoy.
