• Lazy Hike and swim/play Charcoal burner trail in Fahnestock park

    Fahnestock - Charcoal Burners Parking

    RSVP is PER DOG not per person. No intact male dogs. Dogs must be friendly to little kids and other dogs and NOT aggressive about tennis balls since pups will be playing in the water. This is an easy 2 mile hike through woods of Fahnestock Park. This route will take us to a scenic pond where we take 30-45 minutes break for pups to swim and play. This is very slow, lazy hike, perfect for older dogs or dogs who love to play and swim. Parking is along the road 301. Trail head starts at red blaze. You can bring snack or lunch and toys to throw if your dog likes to swim. Directions: The trail head is on the left side, about 0.7 mile passed Dennytown Rd (if you are coming from Route 9. If you see Canopus Lake you went to far.) You will probably see cars parked along the road. If you are coming from Taconic Parkway, trail head is on your right.   • Castle Rock Park Hike in Garrison

    Sugarloaf Hill, Osborn Loop trailhead

    This is easy hike for 2 hours with break for pups to swim in the lake. About 4 miles total. There will be some short uphills but it's mostly flat. NO intact male dogs over 8 months old. RSVP is per dog not per person. We meet at the dirt parking lot at the beginning of the trail. Right by a meadow. The castle is on the hill, you can see it from the parking lot.

This route will take us to two scenic ponds where we take 20 minutes break at each pond for pups to swim and play. This is a loop hike. Parking is along the road 301. Trail head starts at red blaze. Directions: The trail head is on the left side, about 0.7 mile passed Dennytown Rd (if you are coming from Route 9. If you see Canopus Lake you went to far.) You will probably see cars parked along the road.

    Kitchawan Preserve

    Please NO intact male dogs over 10 months old. If you bring 2 dogs, please RSVP + 1 since we try to limit this hike to 6 dogs. This property is a 208-acre natural preserve bordered by the New York City reservoir property. This is an easy hike, mostly wooded trails with access to the lake. About 3 miles. We will spend some time hanging by the lake and let them swim. If you dog has a ball or toy aggression this is not the place for him. The entrance sign to the park from the road is hard to see as the sign is behind tree. You will see green sign saying "warren institute" which shares same driveway. That one is visible. Make turn there.

    This hike is about 6 miles loop, it should take us about 3 hours or so. There will be some hills. We will go around 2 lakes so pups could swim as well.
