Why do want to be part of our group?

Being interested in Mexican culture and having three unforgettable weeks in this amazing country exploring Mayans and Aztecs ruins, making wonderful Mexican friends, enjoying dances and music, etc, I'd very much like to make new friends and sometimes hopefully immerse myself in Mexican environment here. I've already missed Mexico very much. My best favourite cities are San Cristobal de las Casas, Oaxaca, Mexico City and many more beautiful towns... My friends are always joking about me that I've been Mexican in my previous incarnation! :)

Where are you from?

Though I was born in London, I'm originally from a very ancient country where people have very good attitude about Mexicans. My root goes back to Iran. :)

Tell us a bit about yourself :)

Well, I'm a senior bridge engineer who has designed many bridges and refurbished many existing ones. I'm also a photographer ( and world explorer. When I was in Mexico City, I explained to our Mexican tour guide who is now my very dear friend and I consider her as my close relative, how we can refurbish the historic buildings which are suffering from differential settlement of the ground (as you may know Mexico City was built over a lake and so very prone to settlement.) If Mexico was not so far, I wish I could stay there longer, get married to a beautiful Mexican girl and work on refurbishment of historic buildings or as an archaeologist. :)

Hola, many years ago my parents met & got married as both were interested in Mayan history & architecture. They couldn't visit Mexico but last year I did it on behalf of them too and it was an 'el amazingo' experience! The best trip I've ever had...

What Sohail is saying about this Meetup Group

Wonderful group, wonderful organiser, and lovely new friends. Again as we say in Mexico, el amazingo! :)
