Looking to practice your French or get involved with French cultural events? The Alliance Française de Denver is the center for all things French in the Rocky Mountain region. Part of the nonprofit Fondation Alliance Française, a worldwide network of cultural and educational centers, we offer a variety of cultural and social events to more than 1400 members, as well as to the general public.

Beyond Borders - Collaborative Dance Performance with Live Music

'Beyond Borders' Premier at The People's Building Aurora FREE ENTRANCE - RSVP HERE: http://ow.ly/bPU550u0lw4 Collaborative performance by Thomas Dance Project, Gregory Walker and the Altius String Quartet + Rich L’or Nachrist + David Hinojosa Beyond Borders is a show that will represent the life of a group of people celebrating together, who soon realize that the society that they live in is no longer a place of peace and happiness. Due to this, they decide to leave their home land and cross the sea to find refuge in a greater place. Their struggles, hopes, and yearning for a better life will be portrayed throughout this performance. Beyond Borders not only represents this fictional story, but immigrants throughout the world attempting to cross borders. In addition to the Thomas Dance Project, this show will also feature live music by the Altius String Quartet, Rich L’or Nachrist and percussionist David Hinojosa. This live tableau of migrants making their way across Europe will be accompanied by the original compositions of Greg Walker. We are thankful to the University of Colorado "College of Arts & Media" and Afrosocial Colorado for supporting this project. French Chef Series at the Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus

FRENCH CHEF SERIES Experience French Cuisine Hands-On! Join the Alliance Française de Denver at the Children's Museum of Denver at Marisco Campus on the last Tuesday of every month to learn how to make French treats such as crêpes, pastries, and more! Two 30-minute sessions are available at 2:00pm and 3:00pm. Please note that for guest safety, sessions are limited to 16 participants each. In addition, parents must accompany their child(ren) inside the kitchen at all times. Classes are first-come, first-served. A sign-up list is located just outside the Teaching Kitchen. Classes are included with Museum admission. Alliance Française members receive $2.00 off regular Museum admission on non-event days. Please show your AFD member card to Museum staff at check in. *Due to holidays there will be no French Chef Series in March or December. All activities are subject to change.

Alliance Francaise De Denver

EUROPEAN BOOK CLUB The European Book Club at the Alliance Française de Denver meets on the last Tuesday of each month to discuss books by a diverse list of European authors. Each month the group will read a work by a different European author that has been translated into English. This group is led by two dedicated members and volunteers–Nan Campbell and Fran Klein. J'adore Ciné Club: "The Workshop" by Laurent Cantet

J'adore Ciné Club The Alliance Française de Denver is thrilled to partner with the Denver Film Society year after year for a monthly celebration of modern French cinema! On select Wednesdays every month the Denver Film Society will host a screening of a French (or Francophone) film at the SIE FilmCenter. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A discussion. Come meet others AFD & DFS members interested in French and Francophone films. J’Adore Ciné Club is a monthly program AFD organizes in partnership with the Denver Film Society. J’Adore Ciné Club is held at the SIE Film Center the final Wednesday of each month. Come meet other AFD & DFS members interested in French and Francophone films. Stay after the show to discuss the film with other cinéphiles. Iana Dontcheva, filmmaker, producer and film scholar, will be presenting the film and will facilitate a Q&A session following the screenings.
