Do you want to get back into drawing but don't know how or where to start? Join us for the last art class of the year from the amazing art society! And stay with us to celebrate Christmas! This is a group for English speaking people to sip and sketch, improve your drawing skills, try new techniques and meet like minded people. Join us on Sunday 15th December from 17.00 for 2 hours, with guidance and tuition if you want it. The venue is: James Joyce Irish Pub, Calle de Alcalá, 59, 28014 Madrid, Spain Feel free to bring your own materials - I recommend an A4 sketch book, pencils, ball point pens and colour pencils. You can buy materials on the night with cash. The class will start at 17.00, please arrive at least 10 minutes before to settle in and prepare your seat and materials. We will have a short overview of the class for a few minutes minutes, draw for about 60 minutes then have a 15 minute break. Late comers will join the class if space permits and at the start of the next pose. After class is our Christmas Party! Eat, drink and be merry amongst friends! There is a WhatsApp group you can join if you would like to stay updated about the group and to keep in touch. The class is €10 for one class of 2 hours. This party will be a great chance to meet your fellow members and new people with similar interests, whilst spending some time with each other just enjoying each others company. The James Joyce is very well known for it's mulled wine! Wear something Christmasy - silly or smart Christmas jumpers, sparkly clothes, tinsel or dress as an elf: The more effort the better! Save The Date! I want to make a group of artists, philanthropists and adventurous people who would like to join me when I visit this amazing example of children's care in Uganda. I prefer travelling with like minded individuals who want to do something good with their time. What you need to know: I will be organising the trip for myself and I would like people to join me. There will be a few Meetups prior to the trip to get to know our group and to discuss our options; travel arrangements, accommodation, how we can raise funds for the care home and other general topics. Dates of travel may change as the year progresses however I think June 2020 will be the best time to visit and give us enough time to prepare ourselves. I budget around €500 for return flights, €60/night accommodation (7-10 nights), €200 spending money and a few extras like €65 for travel insurance (dependant on your health/age) In Total : €1365 Anything in the budget that is left over I will be donating to Nissi Rephidim Care. The mission as per their website is: Nissi Rephidim Care invites you to partake with us in the Vipawa Children’s Art Museum Project (VCAM) Land fundraising campaign. The project aims at bringing children’s art to life, securing a rich heritage for African Communities. Our Goal is to raise money for securing 3 acres on which the museum structure will be constructed, materials, labour and sundries. If you have any questions, please send me a message. You can find out more about the project here: https://amazingaliya.com/nissi-rephidim-care-uganda/ Lots of Love, Aliya @amazing_aliya
