What we're about
You are invited to attend the annual American University Global Game Jam (GGJ) from Friday, January 26 to Sunday, January 28 at the American University Game Lab! The Global Game Jam showcases the creative talents of more than 36,000 inspired programmers, artists, and designers at 700 sites in 95 countries around the world. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal. The weekend stirs a global creative buzz in games, while at the same time exploring the process of development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration or artistic expression. It is all condensed into a 48 hour development cycle. The GGJ encourages people with all backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and creativity. Visit the Eventbrite link to purchase tickets to this exciting event! Tickets are $20 each and include meals and an ideal workspace that includes lots of screens, couches, whiteboards and more. Don't forget to also register at Global Game Jam.org. Check-in is from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on Friday, January 26th with the kickoff starting at 5:30 pm. The event concludes at 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 28th. We look forward to seeing you there! Feel free to reach out with any questions and to pass along this message to anyone you know who might be interested. Happy gaming!
