Hi You! We're a colourful bunch of people. All connected by the fact that meditation is special for us. Whether you meditate 2 hours a day or you have the intention to start meditating, you're the same welcome.

This group has a long history. As the old organizer stepped down, I (Francisco) recently became the group organizer. I like the old motto of this group 'We don't have one leader or teacher'. So please feel free to share any meditation/mindfulness-related event, whether it has to do with for example mantra singing, Vipassana, mindfulness, breathing techniques, shamanic meditations or dynamic meditations.

Weekly Mindfulness Meetup

Amsterdam Mindfulness

Every Sunday at 13.00 you're welcome to join. This meetup is open for everyone (both advanced & complete beginners). Usually we are with a small group of 4-8 persons. The meetup takes place at my home. We'll do a few mindfulness meditations. Every week there's a certain topic, like for example self-acceptance or negative thought patterns. We can 'use' mindfulness in two ways; first of all as a way to explore our inner and outer world. For example when we try to connect to discomforting thoughts or feelings and curiously observe what is there to observe. Second, we can use mindfulness as a way to deal with things. For example when we try to simply stay with discomforting feelings. Many participants have their own regular meditation practice. This meetup can be of help to keep up with that. * Donation based Donations are welcome. A standard donation is 5 or 10 euro. If your income situation doesn't allow it, then it's also okay not to donate anything. Introduction to mindfulness for everyone

*** note: participation is only possible after registering by mail *** --> What is mindfulness? --> How can mindfulness help you deal with stress, rumination and anxiety? --> How can mindfulness help you changing certain patterns (for example addiction, difficulties saying "no")? --> How can I start 'doing' mindfulness? In this workshop we will cover all these questions. After the workshop you will be confident and you will have practical tools (and meditations!), so you can start on your own mindfulness path and develop more clarity and contentment within weeks. This workshop is given by Francisco Beisterveld, certified mindfulness trainer and psychologist. You can find more about me and my school at www.amsterdam-mindfulness.nl. Price: 25 euro.
